Read all the great reviews online, so my wife and I decided to use Extra Mile to service her 2016 Mazda CX-5. It’s about half a mile from our house, so it made sense to come here. We requested an oil change, as well as a wheel/tire rotation, and balance. We left her car with them for about three hours and never heard anything from their front desk. We then called to see if it was ready. They said they were busy, so it would be a little while longer. They said they’d call when it was done. Another hour passed and we still didn’t get a call. We called again ourselves and the front desk told us to come on over and pick it up. Said they were sorry for not calling us because they were so busy. Not a big deal, but it would have been nice for them to have contacted us as they said they would. They also told us it would take about an hour total for the work, but that ended up being 4 hours instead. Meh, whatever. The real issues... 1. After picking up her car, a new warning light on the dashboard was there that had never been there before. I figured out it was the TPMS light. The technicians hadn’t reset her sensor configuration after the rotation which set the warning light off. 2. A few days later, I noticed oil spots on the garage floor under her Mazda. The car has never had any issues, so I immediately suspected Extra Mile didn’t tighten her oil filter enough, or that her oil plug had been stripped while screwing it back in, or it wasn’t tightened all the way. I also thought it might have just been some oil spillage from the oil change, but I inspected the oil input, and there were no signs of spillage. Because we were so disgruntled by our first and only experience with Extra Mile, we decided to not subject ourselves to more sub-par service and took her Mazda to Express Oil and Tire down the road at 830 N Main St. After driving up to their location, the very friendly staff took about five minutes to reset the tire pressure monitoring system, which fixed the warning light on the dash. They also got under the car and figured out that Extra Mile hadn’t tightened up the oil plug all the way. They also noticed that the underbody plastic cover that goes over the oil plug area was missing 2 out of the 4 screws originally there before Extra Mile worked on it. The folks at Express Oil and Tire tightened the oil plug back all the way, and then found some screws to secure the plastic cover. We asked them how much we owed them, and they told us that there was no charge. They apologized for the bad job Extra Mile did, and told us to come back to Express Oil and Tire for our future servicing needs. You better believe we’ll be going back to Express Oil and Tire. We will never come back to Extra Mile. Stay away from this place unless you want to risk a sub-par experience like my wife and I had. Save yourself the wasted time and frustration and just go to Express Oil and Tire 2 miles down the road. You don’t have my name in your system because it was my wife and her car that we brought in. You’ve done quite enough, thanks.
